"ABC" Most Popular Cruise in Caribbean

Deposits Fully Refundable any time in 2018

ARUBA, BONAIRE, CURACAO ~ Are 3 popular, clean Dutch islands furthest away in the Caribbean. In fact, Aruba is only 15 miles off shore from Venezuela in South America. Daily temperatures on the islands idle near 80 degrees. All 3 islands, located below the Earth's hurricane belt, are hurricane proof. They're picture perfect and nick named the ABC islands. First discovered by the Spanish in 1499 they were conquered again by the Dutch in 1636. Weather and scenery are ideal on these three distant islands. But the Dutch came to agree with the Spaniards: "These islands are very pretty, but not so useful." Spaniards were looking for gold; the Dutch were looking for oil. When neither explorers found what they wanted they vacated. The Dutch left behind oil refineries that were later used by Venezuela. And the slaves the Dutch imported to help build rigs, roads and houses also stayed. Dutch language, customs, dress, culture and cuisine became the lifestyle of these mannerly, well-off islands. When you visit Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao you can hike across Arikok National Park and then bathe in Aruba's world famous natural hot springs; see cactus fences that grow up near village huts and along roads to keep out uninvited animals and intruders; then enjoy Spanish Espresso and hot Dutch chocolate served with sweet cakes at restaurants using electrical power generated by wind mills. Today wind farms generate most of the electricity for all 276,000 ABC islanders. What the ABC islands did not have in gold or oil they made up in wind. Ironically the Dutch sailed to the Caribbean looking for oil to stop using wind at home in Holland. Instead the islanders learned from the Dutch how to build wind mills and use the westerly trade winds (westerlies) for their own use. The entire Caribbean benefited from trade winds bringing in European explorers 600 years ago. Be sure to photograph the divi-divi trees. They lean West because trade winds blow them in that direction. The Dutch were keen on learning about the bent trees calling them ~ divi-divi ~ or pods-pods. They're filled with tannin which is useful in making leather. Yes. Leather. Every day on the cruise learn how the Caribbean is important to world trade. During the cruise your private fitness classes are taught by certified instructors who travel with you from your hometowns. No exercise classes conflict with shore excursions. Enjoy daily morning water aerobics classes in the ship's indoor, heated Solarium pool and then participate in a variety of land classes too. All classes and club activities are included in your cruise fare. Each evening dine with your traveling companions at private tables in the formal dining room booked for early seating. Because this is a 12 day cruise your fully refundable deposit is $450 per person or $900 per stateroom. You may cancel at anytime in 2018 and receive a full refund. No insurance is required for this club benefit. Travel insurance is required when the cruise departs. Installment payments are welcome and are also fully refundable. Airport transfers and pre-cruise hotel arrangements in Ft. Lauderdale are being offered. Call 800-955-9942 for these details.

Totally enjoyed every part of the cruise--would not have changed a thing! Thank you for all you do. Please keep me informed about all of your upcoming cruises! Dorothy Lynch, Columbus Falls, MT.

I was not a big cruise person, but I did like the community aspect of the Fun & Fitness Travel Club. All the instructors were great! They made me and my sister feel like part of the family. It's why I'm asking now to know how my husband and I can sign up for your cruise to Alaska. Moira Lafaver, Houston, TX.

Thanks so much for the prompt return of my cruise deposit. It went right to house repairs from our hurricane. It really helped us. I hope to take one of your fun cruises in the future. You were very pleasant and professional to work with. Thank you again for my quick deposit return. Diane Petersen, Bonita Springs, FL.
