NEW ORLEANS PROMOTES MARDI GRAS ~
French colonists introduced Mardi Gras to the Americas in the 1700s. By the 1800s New Orleans was America's 4th largest city working as a colossal shipping port bringing in sugar cane, tobacco, rum and fruit from the Caribbean Islands to sell throughout the United States and Europe. As business and population grew by leaps and bounds in this southern city so did its celebration of Mardi Gras. This particular cruise departs New Orleans 3 days before Mardi Gras in 2019. It will be at peak readiness for a huge celebration. Hearing jazz in local parks goes on 24 hours a day, as does spicy Cajun cooking. A must-see in New Orleans will be the 'Mardi Gras World' factory to observe how floats are made and sold all over the globe. Departing New Orleans you will cruise to the gorgeous Bahamas for two days of fun in the sun. And then on to Key West to explore such finds as the home of iconic American author Ernest Hemingway. In 1954 he won the Nobel Prize for his sparse writing style. His personal typewriter, and descendants of his six toed cats, both reside in his Key West home. Buy one or all of his books downstairs: 'The Old Man and the Sea,' 'For Whom the Bell Tolls,' and 'A Farewell to Arms' are only three. Each day on the cruise you can enjoy water aerobics in the ship's heated Solarium pool with descending steps for easy access into and out of the pool. Take stretch classes, deck walking and/or a variety of other low impact exercise classes daily, all taught by your home town, certified instructors who escort you on this 7 day fitness cruise. All classes are held in private for club members only. They're included in your cruise price. Come home looking like a million without spending it! Best staterooms and fares sell out first. You can cancel anytime up to Nov. 6, 2018, with no penalty. No insurance is needed for this club benefit. Why book so early? According to the financial news web site '24/ 7 Wall Street' there are 75 million global travelers who prefer vacationing in the United States contributing more than $1.5 trillion dollars to the U.S. economy annually. In 2016 there were 19 million Canadians who came to visit, followed by 18 million Mexicans, 4.5 Million British and 3.5 Million Japanese. The list goes on. Very few travelers vacation in Europe today because of the political unrest there. World travelers are opting instead to visit the United States. This means local resorts, camp sites, Las Vegas and particularly cruise ships are often booked a full year in advance. Costco, AAA, American Express and AARP are holding thousands of cabins on cruise ships too. If you even 'think' you may want to take this cruise now is the time to reserve it. New members are invited to join the club's popular installment pay plan called 'Layaway to Cruise Away.' You can make small payments over the next many months and then be fully paid by the time the cruise departs. All deposits are fully refundable up to Nov. 6, 2018. Do not hesitate. Do not wait. "If not now, when? If not you, who?"
