AEA certified instructor Sallie Jackson of Winter Springs, FL leads water fitness classes on board Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. Royal Caribbean heats its swimming pools, whether the pools are indoors or out. When the fitness club began in 1998 only a handful of men came along. Today nearly as many men as women join in the cruises too.

FFun&FitnessTravelClub has 3,500 members nationwide and an estimated 200 Fitness Hosts. These certified instructors have escorted hometown students on cruises to all the Caribbean Islands, the Mexican Riviera, Hawaii, the Inside Passage to Alaska, through the Panama Canal, to Bermuda and all along the Eastern Shores from Charleston to New York City to Canada. They've sailed away from Galveston, San Diego, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral and Honolulu, as well as Barcelona, Spain, St. Petersburg, Russia, Dublin, Ireland and Amsterdam, Holland. They've even sailed around Cape Horn going to the South Pole. Another favorite cruise sails again to Halifax and St. John, Canada in 2008 to see the East Coast's spectacular Fall Foliage. In January 2009 the club will sail to Australia and New Zealand. Instructor Laila Vehvilainen of Sherborn, MA led her students on their first fitness cruise to Key West, Cozumel and Belize in January. "It was exactly the right time to go to the sunny Caribbean," says Laila. "What a wonderful way to teach!" Fun&Fitness water exercise classes began each morning on board ship with 3 or 4 different time slots from which to choose. Guests had water exercises in an indoor, heated pool, then showered and enjoyed breakfast together before disembarking to see a new port of call.

Fun&Fitness Travel Club sailed on its first cruise in 1998 hosted by co-founders Jim Seeley and Cynthia Neu. In 2008 Jim and Cynthia will celebrate 10 years of travel withFun&Fitness. At least 200 water exercise instructors nationwide, along with their 3,500 students, have joined them on these popular fitness cruises. "The secret to our success," says Cynthia, "is that we strive to make each cruise great fun, often giving them themes like we did on our last cruise. It was Mardi Gras!"
